Why study art history?
Kids who study art history feel a connection to the past. This understanding of history helps them feel more connected to their place in the present, and better able to envision where they want to go in the future.
Art history inspires curiosity. Why did an artist chose a particular style, what impact did his/her work have on the society. Such discussions help children exchange ideas and opinions and strengthen their own sense of self.
Studying and creating art naturally brings out the value of diversity in children.
It gives children different perspective of other cultures' history, stories, values and traditions.
